Thick cloud in west with rain. Brighter and showery east.

Thursday will be cloudier than of late for most areas, even though the day will start sunny over Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere expect occasional showers, more frequent over the English east coast, but some inland too. Through the afternoon it will become cloudier over Ireland with outbreaks of rain reaching the western counties. Mostly light winds with maximum temperatures at around at 9C in north and 12C in south.

Cloudy over Ireland in the evening with outbreaks of rain in south. Further east expect showers in the evening, but getting drier overnight into Friday with clear spells. Minimum temperatures at 4-5C for most, but Scotland and east England away from the coast will see locally temperatures down to -1C.
