Less chilly and becoming drier although cloud and some showery rain and showers in the east

Conditions are expected to become generally drier as this week progresses. Some cloud and patchy rain or showers drifting into northern and eastern areas and tending to be cooler here as well, having become milder in the west.

Friday 19/4/24
A front clears south on Friday morning taking showery bursts of rain with it. A northwesterly flow follows, staying chilly as well. Most are going to then enjoy a fine day with sunny spells and broken cloud. More cloud always affecting northwest Scotland. Highs at 7 to 10C in Scotland, 13C in southern England.


 

Saturday 20/3/24
High pressure builds over the British Isles on Saturday. Some cloud and rain from a weak front in central and northern Scotland. Most areas will be dry and bright with sunny spells, although always some cloud around, especially in northern areas. Highs at 11 to 14C.


 

Sunday 21/4/24
High pressure remains on Sunday. Some cloud in central and eastern Scotland and eastern England. A risk of some spots of rain and showers here too. More western areas should be brighter with sunny spells. Highs at 13C on eastern coasts, 18C in the west.


 

Monday 22/4/24
High pressure is likely to be west of Ireland on Monday. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain in eastern areas of Scotland and England. Probably brighter and drier in the west. Highs at 9 to 11C in the east, 16 to 18C in the south and west.



 
 
 

Tuesday 23/4/24
The area of high pressure remains north and west on Tuesday. A northerly flow bringing cloud and outbreaks of patchy rain or showers in the east. Highs at 8 to 15C.

Wednesday 24/4/24
Pressure stays high on Wednesday. More bright weather, especially in the north and west. A few showers in the east. Highs at 9C in the east, 14C in the west.
