Bright, cold and breezy, a few showers in the west otherwise dry

Its a cold start to the day with a moderate to fresh northwest wind affecting many areas of the country. Sunny spells for most too, although a few showers in north and west Wales and northwest Scotland. East Anglia has some cloud too with a few showers here. Some showers developing in the Midlands and southern England as the morning progresses, otherwise dry and bright.

Staying chilly this afternoon with further showers in central and southern areas. A few showers in northern Scotland. Dry elsewhere with sunny spells and continuing to feel cold.

Tonight is chilly and dry for most. Scattered showers in northern and eastern Scotland. More cloud in Ireland with some rain and drizzle in the far northwest later in the night. A touch of ground frost in central areas.
